MICHAEL ZAMPELLA LCSW, CASAC
Senior Associate

Michael is a seasoned clinician who appreciates the importance of both kindness and commitment in being a therapist. His practice specializes in the treatment of adolescents who present with behavioral and emotional problems caused or made worse by substance misuse. The clinical approach he takes is to help address the emotional, situational and behavioral problems that often lead to school difficulties and family conflict while also addressing the substance use issues.

Michael works with family members and does couple's therapy as well in order to compile a comprehensive assessment and develop effective solutions to the presenting problems. Michael served as Clinical Director for adolescent substance abuse and mental health treatment programs in both Manhattan and Staten Island. This work allowed for the constant exposure to contemporary, research based treatment approaches shown to be effective for adolescents, couples and families. Michael has been a professor of social work at Monmouth University Graduate School and NYU Graduate School of Social Work, teaching courses in child and family therapy. He is currently a Field Instructor at NYU, Fordham University, and College of Staten Island school of Social Work.

Michael completed his graduate studies at NYU School of Social Work, where he received an MSW degree & a Post Graduate Training Certificate from the Doctoral Program and has State Certification in Addiction Treatment.
